Silverstein & Ostovitz is unique in that we practice family law only. To provide the best possible representation, we focus on this one area. We represent men and women in separation, divorce, support, custody, access, support and property issues; the firm does not handle adoptions.

Family law practice has been expanding from strictly litigation to include mediation, collaborative law, and ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) techniques. Recognizing the importance and value of these techniques, Linda Ostovitz holds certifications in and practices Civil Mediation, Divorce Mediation, and Collaborative Law.

We will help you understand the options in your particular case. If settlement is preferred, we will work to reach an agreement. But we are also experts in litigation, and will try a case when that is the best solution. Whatever the means of resolution, we provide a realistic assessment that gives you all the information you need to make an informed decision. The final decision is always yours.

Linda Ostovitz has been an attorney for 27 years, having lived in Howard County for most of her life. Fred Silverstein has been practicing law in Howard County for 32 years. Both have many years of litigation experience including Ostovitz as a Senior Assistant State's Attorney, and Silverstein as a Public Defender. 

The office of Silverstein & Ostovitz is directly across the street from the Howard County Circuit Court where all family law cases are handled. A member of our litigation team is in the courthouse every single day; being at the center of legal activity is an important advantage for clients.
